SWIL's Pterodactyl Hunt has become a quite popular event on campus, engaging more non-SWILies than SWILies. The basic idea is that the forces of good are battling the forces of evil, led by two Pterodactyls. The forces of good are composed of non-SWILies and the forces of evil are the SWILies. The forces of good are armed with rolled-up newspaper swords and garbed in white garbage bags -- they can only be "killed" by being hit on the garbage bag. The forces of evil are also armed with rolled-up newspaper and garbed in garbage bags, but their garbage bags are black. The Hunt goes until both Pterodactyls have been killed by being hit three times each on their feet. Other notable characters in the Hunt are the Black Knight, the Oracle, and the Siren. In addition, this year saw the advent of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal and the Gamekeeper. Several documents on the Pterodactyl Hunt have been gathered and archived.
