History
The United Church of Crunchy Cod came about during one of those late-night sessions at Swarthmore College.
We were sitting in the Mary Lyons dorm. We had just watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Twice. It was around 11:30pm. The time was right.
Crunchy Cod is a dish served by Sharples Dining Hall. Like most college food, it is bad. But it has somehow made its way into our hearts and is often the butt of many jokes at the dinner table.
Which brings us to Keanu Reeves.... Keanu Reeves is the butt of many jokes as well, but for the more obvious reason that in his entire movie career, he has had exactly one good role: Ted Theodore Logan.
During one particular dinner time, Crunchy Cod was voted to be better than Keanu Reeves in every possible way. As Erik Rosolowsky said, "It even bounces better!"
So this is the stage: three college students sitting around, late at night, after having watched silly animated films, having entirely too much work to do and not doing it.
Thus was born the United Church of Crunchy Cod.
